Producer profile: Based in Agrelo, in the region of Mendoza, Argentina. Chakana is a family run winery set up back in 2002. Their vineyards cover an area of over 80 hectares and have further vineyards in the Uco Valley region.
From the start, the family wanted to showcase their region through their wines so slowy started to introduce biodynamic and organic techniques to their vineyards and production. By 2016, they had won the credentials needed to be fully certified as a biodynamic and an organic winery producing vegan friendly wines.Â
They believe in as little intervention as possible so allow natural yeasts to help in the fermentation process and add as little additives as needed so that the juice remains as a true representation of the fruit and their region as possible.
