Description; On the nose, it is generous and offers aromas of blackcurrant buds, acacia and citrus. If you are looking at saving a few pounds, this is a great alternative to the famous wines of this regions.
Producer Profile; Marc Godet is the sixth generation of his family to run this 25 hectare domaine, a long standing favourite with our customers. The Sauvignon here is vibrant and crisp with a hint of tropical fruit, whilst the rosé is a fabulous red currant scented dry wine, based around Cabernet Franc.
The Loire Valley is one of the most diverse wine regions in existence. From sparkling wine to some of the world's greatest dessert wine and from light tangy whites to the benchmark Sauvignon Blancs. There are Bordeaux style reds, good and even great Pinot Noirs and Gamay that can rival Beaujolais. This is before considering rosé and wines like Pineau d'Anais that are unique to the region. You could drink wine only from here and never be stuck for choice or interest. What is perhaps most sad is that for the majority of people, the Loire is Sancerre and they never look into its more interesting and better value wines.
