Description;
Hamelin Chablis is a vivid light gold yellow, with a slight hint of green. The nose is expressive with blossoms and ripe white fruits and the palate is rounded with a touch of minerality, soft, with good length of finish.
Producer Profile;
The history of Domaine Hamelin is a story of generations, starting in 1840 when Gustave Hamelin, an inhabitant of Montallerie, a hamlet of Beines, grew 2 hectares of vines alongside his mixed farm. The passion for winemaking continued and improved to the present day, with significant advancement in the 1940’s under Pierre Hamelin, when the vineyard was further developed with up to date technology, leading onto the first mechanical horizontal press in 1948 and the first high clearance tractor in 1953.
Today, the Domaine Hamelin combines the vineyards of Marc and Thierry Hamelin.
The knowledge handed down from generation to generation is a harmonious mix of old traditions and modern-day techniques. The focus of Domaine Hamelin, and the main feature of their Chablis wines, involves keeping the flavour of the ‘terroir’, together with offering the wines maximum generosity and charm.
A well-controlled and thermo-regulated wine making process is essential. Their key priority is to bottle the wine themselves at the optimal moment, during which the wine is at its most expressive.
