Producer Profile:
After many years as fish merchants Kim and John decided they needed a new adventure. By chance they found a derelict farmhouse on the edge of Penzance and decided to buy it – along with 23 acres. After meeting an award-winning Cornish winemaker they decided to plant vines and create their own Cornish vineyard. From their first wine harvest in 2006, they created the first Polgoon wine and were subsequently awarded the Trophy for “Best Still Rose in the UK”. Several years on and the awards keep flowing and the wines are gaining a huge following. Their crab sandwiches are pretty good too, so if you are in or around Penzance for the day this is a great place to stop for a tour and lunch.
