Description: Full bodied with lovely abundant black fruit flavours. Matured in toasted oak for twelve months adds a touch of vanilla and spice overtones.
Producer profile: La Riojana co-operative was created in the 1940's. Many of the growers first arrived in the La Rioja region from Italy and recognised the area as ideal for plating vines. The majority of growers, roughly 80% are classed as small producers with vineyard holdings no more than three hectares. Combined they now harvest approximately 4000 hectares of vineyards in the La Rioja province.
