Bodegas As Laxas is a historic, family owned and managed estate with a long and rich tradition of wine making. It was one of the first bodegas in the region to be awarded the status of DO Rias Baixas when established in 1898. It was acquired by the Simon Ferro family in 1982 and they own 19 hectares of vineyards planted with Albariño. The estates vineyards are more than 30 years old and situated on south facing granite terraces 200 metres above sea level. The vineyard benefit from the sloping landscape and the Atlantic winds and the intense rays of the sun.
