Description; Elegant and fresh in style, made with the finest Loire Valley Sauvignon Blanc. The Domaine des Clairneaux Sancerre is a great alternative for fans of New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc, showing Loire white wine at its best.
Producer Profile; Dominating the Loire from high on its "piton" or hilltop, the vineyards of Sancerre were destined for great winemaking.
In 1983, Jean Marie Berthier moved to his wife's village, Sainte-Gemme-en-Sancerre, where they built up this domaine from scratch. Domaine des Clairneaux has continued to grow for nearly 30 years. In 1998, they took over the Montbenoit vineyards in the Coteaux du Giennois, plots that his father had worked for many years. Today they work 19 hectares with great care and dedication to produce outstanding quality wines.
After 30 years, the baton is now being taken up by the next generation, but the exacting requirements remain the same. Created from a blend of knowledge, intuition, emotions, doubts and a little luck, their wine has only one ambition - to bring you drinking enjoyment.
